Little Women
Current Show

We are delighted to be performing the very first production of Little Women, The Broadway Musical in Edinburgh. Based on the classic novel by Louisa May Alcott, this story is a favourite amongst many readers of all ages and has endured over 6 generations. Thanks to the Broadway adaptation, this show brings the pages of the book to life on stage with a beautifully moving musical score accompanying all the highs and lows of the March family’s journey as four young sisters find their way in the world.

Written in the late 1860s and set during the time of the American Civil War, there is a timelessness about Alcott’s story and it feels as relevant and identifiable now as it was then, perhaps even more so. Jo, the central character is an aspiring writer and the written word is very much at the heart of this piece.

It is no accident that we have chosen the month of March and the week of both International Women’s Day and Mothering Sunday for our performance dates. Spanning audiences of all age groups, this show celebrates Motherhood, Sisterhood, love and true family values and does so with honesty, humour and heart.

We can’t wait to invite you into the March family home and bring this production to the stage at the Assembly Roxy.
